KABUL (SW): The unusual video of Ibrahim Abid, the famous comedian posted on social media “Facebook”, has sparked a backlash.
Most Facebook users have expressed their support for Ibrahim Abid, asking the authorities to investigate the case and prosecute the perpetrators, labelling it as a violation of the privacy of individuals
Farhad Darya, the most famous singer of Afghanistan has posted on his Facebook page that “the astonished look of Ibrahim Abid, his childish silence in front of the camera, the pale and worried face of this man, the shaky fingers which portrayed his helplessness, not only broke my heart but the hearts of millions of people”.
On the other hand, NAI-Supporting Open Media in Afghanistan by releasing a newsletter said such act which has been seen in this video is inhumane and repressive and called on the authorities to prosecute its perpetrators.
Meanwhile, Nusratullah Rahimi, deputy spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior informed that the MoI is investigating the case of humiliation of Ibrahim Abid seriously.
Ibrahim Abid is one of the famous comedians which along with critique and reflection of social injustice, brings smiles on the faces of many citizens.
