KABUL (SW) – Well-placed sources have confirmed that Mohammad Mohaqiq has joined the election team of Abdullah Abdullah.
The proposed agreement in this connection is likely to be made public soon, the source said.
Commenting on this Fereydoun Khwazun, spokesman for the Stability and Convergence team of Abdullah, confirmed that Mohaqiq has joined them. He added that Mohaqiq’s position in the team of S&C would be announced on Friday.
Mohammed Mohaqeq was previously vice president candidate for the "Peace and Moderation" campaign headed by Mohammad Haneef Atmar.
The P&M team is believed to be faced with internal rift and divisions with little over a month left for the presidential elections.
Previously, disputes between Mohammad Haneef Atmar and Ata Mohammad Noor, a member of this team, made headlines.
