KABUL (SW): Officials at the Ministry of Defense (MoD) have warned if corruption is not eradicated, international community will decrease financial aid to Afghanistan.
Ghulam Sakhi Ahmadzai, deputy director of technical and logistics at the MoD, has said the Ministry has taken steps to eradicate corruption by reposting at least 1665 employees in the past six months. He said 966 of such employees were associated with procurement . “In order to find ghost soldiers, the Ministry has launched bio-metric program called E-HRMS (electronic human resources management system). 10 teams are assigned to do biometric of Afghan National Army soldiers and MoD employees”, informed Ahmadzai.
He added 1500 criminal cases against the MoD employees have been dispatched to judiciary. “At least 190 high ranking MoD official have registered their assets”, informed Ahmadzai.
