MoD claims no civilian is harmed in Kunduz air raid

KUNDUZ CITY (SW) – Local sources in Kunduz claim at least 15 civilians got killed in aerial raids by the security forces in Khan Abad district.

A number of locals sustaining wounds in this incident told Salam Watandar that they were hit in this air raid when they were busy working. They added many more got hit by a consecutive raid when they were busy putting off the fire caused by the initial raid.

Abdul Rauf, an official at the Kunduz Regional Hospital, said at least four dead bodies and six injured, including children, have been brought here. Syed Hafeezullah Fitrat, regional head of the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission in Kunduz, has claimed that 12 civilians have been killed and wounded in this raid.

Meanwhile, the defense ministry said in a statement that Taliban staged attacks on security forces in the Nekpi area of the district. It added at least 30 Taliban insurgents, including a number of their commanders, were killed in retaliation and eight others were wounded.

It claimed no civilians has been harmed.
