KABUL (SW): Members of the Masharano Jirga (MJ) have said that they would welcome participation of Hezb-e-Islami led by Hekmatyar in peace process, adding that such move would be a step further towards ensuring security in the country.

Abdul Hadi Muslimyar, the MJ Speaker, said that it would be effective if such move is realized.

Abdul Latif Nusratyar, one of the sentaors, said that the government should capitalize on this opportunity and allow Hezb-e-Islami to join the peace talks.

Hezb-e-Islami, declared in a statement it released two days ago that it is fully ready to take part in the process.

The senators also informed of increasing insecurity across the country, and accused the government of paying less attention to ensure security.

Hanif Hanifi, one of the senators, speaking at today’s session, said that government’s lack of enough attention in ensuring the stability, encouraged and boosted the morale of the armed opposition to further dismantle security in the country.

He said that the government is indifferent to security situation.

It is worth mentioning that Taliban recently attacked on Khanshin district in the southern Helmand province and reportedly captured the district last night.

Senators urged that the government should specify its stance and it should either make peace with the militants or fight against them.

At today’s session, there was also discussion about recent remakrs made by the international community members regarding increasing insecurity in the coming year.

They said that such comments would create panic among the citizens.
