JALALABAD/ BADGHES (SW) – In two separate tragic incidents, a minor bride got killed in Badghes while a minor boy got raped in Jalalabad.
Ahmad Faheem Qaim, provincial police chief in Badghes, informed Salam Watandar the minor bride has been killed in Qadis district. He said the minor bride was married-off to an elderly man by her parents a while ago, and she was facing persecution at her in-laws.
According to Zarghoona Sherzaad, head of the directorate of women affairs, incidents of violence against women and girls are on the rise. She urged the law enforcement agencies to nab the culprits in this latest incident of the sort.
Separately, an illegally armed guard, Pahlawan, of a local warlord, Azeemullah, has sexually assaulted a minor boy in Jalalabad city. According to father of the victim, the armed man also tried to kill the boy after the assault. The parents of the victim have threatened to commit suicide if the government failed to deliver justice.
Ehsanullah Shinwari, director for public health, has confirmed the incident. Meanwhile, Attaullha Khogyani, spokesman for the provincial governor, has said the suspect has been taken into custody.
