KABUL (SW): A number of cabinet members on Saturday briefed lawmakers in the Wolesi Jirga (lower house) about their achievements this year and plans for the future.
Eklil Hakimi, Minister for Finance told the house that record AFN 15o billion worth of revenue has been collected this year. He also stressed that eradicating corruption in departments related to revenue collection and customs remain a top priority of the Ministry of Finance. Hakimi said that public private partnership in mega project is also a priority.
Abdul Sattar Murad, Minister for Economy said on his term that work is underway on information management in the ministry to curb corruption. He vowed that sustainable development projects across the country would be supported. Sattar added that comprehensive strategy for development plans in the provinces and best utilization of international aid are part of future strategy.
Humayoon Rasa, Minister for Trade and Industry informed the house private sector would be encouraged in the coming years and steps would be taken to enhance domestic production. He added that the number of industrial parks would be increased to boost exports.
