KABUL (SW) – Minister for public health, Ferozuddin Feroz said on Thursday the ministry currently needs more than a million protective kits and more than 54 million litters of disinfectant to fight the coronavirus, which cannot be obtained from abroad.
According to him, although the ministry has imported more than 100,000 protective kits, it is not enough. Feroz told a news conference in Kabul on Thursday that the ministry was working with local producers to produce protective kits meeting quality standards in the country.
According to the minister of public health, the production for it will start in three days and will produce at least 10,000 protective dress and masks daily for health workers.
He added the production of ethanol or disinfectant will soon begin in the country.
So far, 484 people have been infected with the coronavirus. According to the Ministry of Public Health, 32 patients have recovered and 15 have died.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology announced the creation of a site called "Easy Corona" to unify the statistics of victims and provide health information to the public.
Fahim Hashemi, head of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, said that information about the coronavirus symptoms as well as other important information would be available on the app.
