SHEBERGHAN (SW): Authorities in Jawzjan province have said at least 52 farmers have been abducted by the Taliban rebels.
Mohammad Raza Ghafoori, spokesman for the provincial governor, told Salam Watnadar the farmers have been abducted from the Darzab district. He added the farmers were rounded-up from the Chahar Say, Chahar Band and Chehel Tapay areas. The spokesman said the men have been arrested on the order of Taliban commander Mawlawi Mohammadullah also known as Mansour.
The Taliban or any other groups have not taken responsibility for the abduction. This is not the first time civilians have been abducted from the province.
