Massoud Foundation wants government to prevent disorder during Martyr’s Week commemorations

KABUL (SW): The authorities of the Ahmad Shah Massoud Foundation urged the government to prevent public disorder during the commemoration of death anniversary of the national hero.

Ahmad Wali Massoud, the director of the Foundation, at a news conference in Kabul, said that this year, the martyr week and the death anniversary of the Ahmad Shah Massoud, the national hero of the country, will be commemorated with a message of unity.

According to him, the Foundation has coordinated with groups and supporters on commemorating the martyr's week, expecting no disorder to occur.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) officials have also assured that the Ministry has taken measures to ensure the security during the martyr week.

Najib Danish, the spokesman for MoI, assured that “anyone celebrating the martyr week and the death anniversary of Ahmad Shah Massoud, causes any disturbance to other citizens, will be legally charged for public nuance”.

In the recent years, a number of loyalist and supporters of Ahmad Shah Massoud, the national hero, have marched armed with guns in the capital's roads, which occasionally has ended causing disorder in the city and even clashes with the security forces.

But, the officials of the Massoud Foundation clarified that marching and patrolling the roads has never been part of the program of the Foundation.
