CHAGCHARAN (SW): A girl in Ghor province has reportedly been shot dead by her fiancé, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place in the Dawlat Yar district’s Pastha-e-Nor area. According to the initial reports, the man was urging his fiancé to run away with him but she refused.
Ziauddin Saqib, caretaking police chief of the province told Salam Watandar that the couple was at odds over the high financial cost of their wedding. He confirmed that the assassin has fled the scene of the murder. Abdul Hai Khatibi, spokesman for the provincial governor has also confirmed the incident. He added that the girl has been killed by her fiancé and his friend.
