KABUL (SW) – One of the advisers to Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah who was charged with "moral corruption and abduction of a woman" has now been appointed as senior adviser to the President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
Relevant sources at the CE’s office told Salam Watandar that Sahib Nazar Sangin was expelled from Abdullah Abdullah's office last year due to these allegations and referred to the Ministry of the Interior for investigations, but months later, he has been appointed as a senior adviser to the President on social affairs and for the well-being of minorities.
The evidence provided to SW also indicted that the new advisor to President has been charged with "moral corruption and abducting a woman."
According to these documents, Hafizullah, the father-in-law of Shukria, a woman accused of having an illegitimate relationship with Sangin, reported her missing to the police’s 201 – Asmayee Command last year.
The Criminal Investigation Department has also sent the woman's profile to all police stations in Kabul.
The CE’s office also sent a letter to the Ministry of Interior in this connection to probe the matter. An authoritative source at the CE’s office told SW that Sangin had been asked for clarity on charges of "moral corruption and abducting a woman" multiple times during his time at the CE’s office, but each time Sangin escaped from answering.
According to the source, the CE was determined to remove Sangin from the advisory position and introduce him to the MoI for investigation.
According to a letter by the MoI, Hafizullah, resident of Doshi district of Baghlan province, has said that his daughter-in-law Shukria, wife of his deceased son Dr. Safiullah has developed illicit relations with Sangin and has fled with him along with his two young children from a rented house located in Afshar, Kabul, to an unknown location.
Rahimullah Burhani, the head of the General Office of the Ministry of the Interior (MoI), has requested the Directorate of Security Affairs to look into this case. After this, the Deputy Minister for Security Affairs issued an order on the same day, requesting the Kabul Police Command to take legal actions.
Along with these documents, SW has obtained a tape, which shows that Hafizuzllah also blaming Sangin for the murder of his son Dr. Safiullah.
Based on these informations, Shukriya is now at a shelter home in Kabul.
However, the newly appointed Presidential Adviser on Social Affairs and the Welfare of Minorities, has denied all these allegations. He said his political opponents and opportunists are conspiring against him.
We wanted to have the views of the Arg (presidency), but Shah Hussein Mortazavi, a spokesman for the President, said that this issue is not relevant to him, and other officials also refused to talk about this.
A while ago, a former advisers of the Presidency and the Security Council levelled allegations of morally corrupt circles at the Arg. This report can add to those allegations.
