KABUL (SW) – Azizullah Fazly, Chairman of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, on Monday announced major changes in the leadership of the Board.
Addressing a presser at the ACB head office in Kabul, Fazly announced Assadullah Khan would replace the current CEO Shafiqullah Stanikzai who has been serving at this post since 2015. He added the new CEO would keep charge till the end of ICC World Cup 2019 in England and Wales. After that, a new CEO would be appointed with the consultation of board members and the ICC, he said.
Assadullah Khan has served as video analyst and member selection committee.
Fazly hailed the services of the outgoing CEO. Responding to a question, he said time would tell if Stanikzai would be given any other charge at the ACB.
The ACB chairman also announced four new board members have been nominated to replace former members Eklil Hakimi, Mansur Sadat, Ahmad Shah and Hekmat Karzai. Fazly also announced formation of two new committees at the ACB comprising former players and board officials.
