MAIMANA (SW): A lush green indoor sports gymnasium was inaugurated in the northern Faryab province on Saturday exclusively for the girls.
Abdul Sattar Barez, Deputy Acting Governor in Faryaab said while inaugurating the gymnasium that the project cost over 1 million afn that was generously funded by the government of Norway. He said that it took 7 months to get completed.
Meanwhile, girls who were playing on the pitch thanked Norway and the local officials. Talking to SW the girls said that that playing in a secluded environment would lift their confidence and sporting abilities.
Local officials vowed to duplicate the project in other parts of the province as well.
