KABUL (SW) – The skyrocketing prices of domestic LPG gas under harsh weather conditions have irked Kabul residents.
In conversation with Salam Watandar, a number of Kabul residents criticized the government for failing to regulate the prices of this basic commodity.
Two such capital city dwellers, Khaksar and Mohammad Ameen, said per kilo gas has surged to the unaffordable price of AFN 85. They said the distributors and sellers of the gas are determining the prices on their own.
The sudden surge in gas prices also invited criticism from the Wolesi Jirga (lower house). Speaker of the house, Mir Rehman Rehmani, said the interim minister for trade and industries, Ajmal Ahmadi, has been summoned to the house over the issue.
