Logar’s mayor accused usurping land quota of martyrs

PUL-I-ALAM (SW): Dozens of members of the families of the martyrs of Logar protested in front of the Provincial Council building claiming that the mayor of Logar 'for seizing and selling the lands that are dedicated to the martyr’s family'.

Abdul Qadir, a protestor, said they are protesting against land usurpation by the mayor. He blamed the mayor for selling the land quota of martyrs.

Esmatullah, another protester, said based on the Presidential decree the lands should be allotted to the families of the martyrs, but the mayor has usurped the lands.

The protesters warned that if the justice is not done, they will organize bigger protests. The protesters also stated that relevant authorities have not paid the families of the martyrs their monthly benefits as well.

Nasir Ahmad Lalizi, the mayor of Logar, talking to Salam Watandar reiterated that the families of the martyrs are facing homelessness. He said that so far 3 thousand complaints of these families have been registered at the mayor’s office. But, he rejected the allegations of usurpation against himself by the families.

Along with martyr’s families, disabled persons also claim that their benefits have been paid by the authorities since 4 years.
