PUL-I-ALAM (SW): The Ministry of Urban Development Affairs (MoUDA) has initiated work on a pioneering clean water supply project in Logar province.
This project in the provincial capital Pul-i-Alam is likely to be completed in one year, and would help supply drinking water to some three thousands families. Naseer Ahmad, the Pul-i-Alam mayor, said at the foundation stone laying ceremony that up to 80, 000 people would be able to receive clean water upon completion of this project.
The project comprises of two deep wells, a power generators, two electric water pumps, a 2.4 kilometers pipeline and two large reservoirs. The Mayor noted that this is one of a kind project that would see the MoUDA spend some AFN 65 million for supplying clean water to tens of thousands of residents.
Mohammad Haleem Fidayee, the governor, said on the occasion the Ministry has also assured of a second phase of this project that would help provide water literally to the whole city.
