KHOST CITY (SW): The Afghan Border Police (ABP) and locals in Khost province’s Zazi Maidan district inflicted death toll on intruding Pakistani forces, officials said on Sunday.
Abdul Hanan Zadran, interim police chief in Khost, informed Salam Watandar the Pakistani forces wished to cross over the Durand Line that sparked backlash from the locals as well as the ABP. “We have inflicted heavy death toll on the Pakistani forces, two of their soldiers are killed and two have been taken into custody. Unfortunately, two of our civilians also got killed”, he informed.
A number of schools have been closed down close to the site of clashes in Khost. The clashes erupted at around 08:00hrs and halted at around 17:00hrs.
A local informed that this is not the first time the Pakistani forces are intruding into the Zazi Maidan district. Another Khosti man said the locals are standing together with the Afghan forces, and air power should be used against Pakistani forces.
There has been an evident surge in cross-Durand Line intrusions by Pakistani forces recently.
