KABUL (SW) – Literary figures and civil society activists gathered in Kabul on Saturday to raise voice against the talks going on with the Taliban.
The gathering was complemented with poetry by Rameen Mazhar and a stage performance depicting the Taliban-era oppression tactics under the banner of ‘Not frightened among the Taliban, will kiss you!’
The moot demonstrated stern opposition towards fundamentalism and terrorism. The participants also denounced the Moscow conference in which a number of politicians met the Taliban representatives.
Poet and organizer of the moot, Sami Hamid, said on the occasion their stance against the Taliban should not be allowed to be used for the benefit of the rebels. He said many more people have the Taliban mentality, but their interests are different.
Yaseen Nigah, another poet, said on his term those meeting the Taliban in Moscow had no right or authority to pardon the Taliban for their brutalities.
