Legal action to enforce school attendance in Paktia

PAKTIA (SW): A number of tribal elders, religious scholars, and the residents of Laja Mangal district have decided that families should send their son and daughters to school and the local council and schools can give you a fine (money-wise) if your child is missing school without a good reason.

Taj Mohammad Mangal, a provincial council member in Paktia told Salam Watandar that the residents of Paktia have now learned about the importance of education and efforts are made to implement the decision of the tribal elders and school councils to enforce school attendance.

Taj Mohammad Mangal called on the government officials in Paktia to provide better educational opportunities for the residents of Paktia.  

Kuchi Zazi, head of Directorate of Education in Paktia, welcomed the decision of the tribal elders and school councils and said that it is an important step in educating the children of Paktia.

Zazi added that in 2018-2019, three schools will be built for the residents of Laja Mangal district.
