LASHKARGAH (SW) – A landmine blast in Helmand province on Wednesday killed at least seven civilians, an official confirmed.
Umer Zwak, spokesman for the provincial governor, said the incident took place in the Nahr-e-Siraj district on the main Herat – Kandahar highway this morning.
He said a mini-bus hit this landmine that was planted by the Taliban on this main highway.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
An identical roadside bomb blast in Musa Qala district of Helmand last Wednesday claimed the lives of at least eight civilians.
