FAIZABAD (SW) – At least 30 people got killed due to land sliding in Badakhshan province.
According to the local officials, this incident took place in the Shepo area of the Kohistan district.
Syed Abdullah Humayoun, director National Disasters Management Authority in Badakhshan, said the incident took place when the local were busy laundering gold particles in the Shepo mine. He feared the death toll might surge.
In the meantime, member of the provincial council, Ahmad Jawed Raghi, said though telecommunication services are not available in the affected area, but the death toll of 30 deaths is confirmed. He said many workers were present in the area, therefore the toll might surge.
