KABUL (SW): Following Iraq, Kyrgyzstan has become the second country to acquire Afghan national futsal players for its first tier domestic league.
According to Afghanistan Futsal Federation, three players from the national team namely captain Syed Mehdi Hashimi, Akbar Kazmi and Mohammad Rea Karimi have been selected for the domestic league in the Central Asian nation. The AFF has noted that the three players have reached Kyrgyzstan to join the F.C. Aram.
Last month, Iraq’s Baldia Al-Nasrah acquired Ali Fayazi and Jawad Haidari for its domestic futsal league.
The F.C. Aram of Kyrgyzstan is the leading and defending champion in the domestic league.
Afghanistan’s national futsal team performed exceptionally at the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) in Turkmenistan last year. It helped attract foreign clubs towards the talent in Afghanistan.
Afghanistan defeated giants like China, Uzbekistan and Maldives at the AIMAG, and bagged 4th position among 17 participating countries.
Afghanistan’s national futsal team is ranked 94th in the world, and 22nd in Asian region.
