TAKHAR(SW): Officials in Takhar province said that a dozen Kunduz children died of hunger in Takhar.
Abdul Latif Ebrahimi, acting governor of Takhar, told Salamwatandar that a large number of families have evacuated their houses in Kunduz and have fled to Takhar.
He said if these families did not receive any assistances, a human catastrophe would take place.
He further said that local government has tasked a group to register the number of displaced families and the number reached more than 7000 families.
" These displaced families have no shelter and spend the nights on the streets and go to sleep on an empty stomach." He said.
Jawed Makhdomzada, head of Red Crescent in Takhar, said that they have distributed food and clothes to more than 500 families.
Earlier, Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations said that fighting in Kunduz displaced 5000 families.
