KHOST CITY (SW): The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MoCIT) has completed a $ 6 million project to link Khost with the fiber optic cable and digital telephones.
Hukum Khan Habibi, provincial governor, said on the occasion up to 138-kilometer long fiber optic cable from Gardez would link Khost city and Ghulam Khan dry port. He said this project have cost $ 4 million, $ 2.9 million of which have been granted by the World Bank and the rest $ 1.1 million by the Afghan Telecommunication Company.
Habibi said this landmark project would link Khost with rest of the world. He added up to 5,000 digital telephone lines would be set-up in the province costing $ 1.9 million. Work on these projects began two years ago.
