
JALALABAD (SW): In a special operation, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) forces claimed to have killed two top pro-Daesh rebels in Nangarhar province.
Among the dead included Mawlawi Abdul Qayume also known as ‘Shaheen Khurasani’ who is believed to be the main architect of a deadly suicide attack on a protest rally in Kabul last year which claimed over 80 lives. The rally was part of the protest demonstrations by the ‘Enlightenment Movement’.
Attaullah Khogyani, spokesman for the provincial governor, told Salam Watandar another militant commander ‘Farooqi’ has also been killed in this operation. As per his information, militant commander ‘Shaheen Khurasani’ was heading a group of some 200 fighters.
In another development, up to three Pakistani militants associated with the Daesh have been killed in a drone attack in the Momand Dara district in Nangarhar. Three more militants are wounded in this attack.
The Daesh militants have not communicated with the press in this regard.
