Karimi wins silver at Para Sports Festival in Mexico

MEXICO CITY (SW): Abbas Karimi from Afghanistan has managed to won silver medal in swimming for his country at the Para Sports Festival in Mexico City, Mexico.

The Afghanistan Physical Fitness Federation has confirmed this news. Abbas Karimi, deputy director of the APFF, has pronounced Abbas Karimi as ‘champion of the millennium’ for Afghanistan. Disabled with both of his hands, Karimi has made his mark in the world of para-sports of late.

Born in the capital Kabul without both of his arms, Karimi is 20-year-old now. He competed in three different disciplines at the Mexico City Para Sports Festival. On his personal facebook page, the young athlete has thanked Allah for his achievement at the 50-meter competition.

A total of 1200 athletes from 89 countries are taking place at the Para Sports Festival in Mexico City.
