KABUL(SW): Kandahar soap, a product of Afghanistan that is said to have entered the world markets including the US and Canada markets, and has good reputation.
The soap is made from pomegranates and other fruits in the shapes of sea gems, but because of lack of awareness of the residents in Afghanistan, it does not have a good market locally.
To review the market for the sale of this soap and whether consumers are happy about the quality of this product, a reporter of Salam Watandar has visited the local markets to find out.
Habibullah, a Kabul resident said he has used the Kandahar soap for about two years and he is satisfied with the quality of this product. He said that Kandahar soap along with the fact that it is a local produce has natural ingredients and is useful for human skin.
Mukhtar, another resident of Kabul who came to the market with his family said that he and his friends who have been using Kandahar soap are fully satisfied with this product.
Sajjad, a Kabul shopkeeper, said that Kandahar soap is made from natural vegetable oil which is why it is expensive.
According to Sajjad, this soap is sold in the local markets between 290 to 390 Afghanis, but in the international markets it sales for $20 to $50. This seller adds that Kandahar soap has different kinds for different skin types.
There are no chemicals in the composition of this soap, and it helps in the beauty and softness of skins.
It must be noted that this soap is made by hand.
