KABUL (SW) – The terrorist assault on the police headquarters in Kandahar was planned and controlled from Pakistan, the National Directorate of Security, NDS, said on Friday.
The Taliban-claimed attack on Thursday killed 12 people and left more than 90 others injured. According to the Ministry of Interior, eight among the dead were civilians and an overwhelming majority of the wounded people were also civilains.
Meanwhile, the NDS said in a statement that the attack was planned and controlled from Chaman city in Pakistan. According to the spy agency, a Taliban commander Mulla Aagha was in constant contact with his masters across the Durand Line that proves the presence of their leadership in Pakistan. The statement added that such attacks harm peace efforts and further expose the Taliban as a slave group bent upon executing terrorist attacks.
It said the attack proved the Taliban are fighting for the interests of the outsiders.
Seprately, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani also vehemently condemned the attack saying the continuation of war by the Taliban is aimed at civilian casualties.
