KABUL (SW): The Ministry of Interior (MoI) along with Kabul Municipality introduced new security plan for the capital here in Kabul on Monday.
Security officials on the occasion of introducing the new security plan said that the plan will first focus on the diplomatic enclave of Kabul, and then will include other parts of the capital. According to them, creating 26 checkpoints to prevent the entry of long and heavy vehicles is one of the key issues in the plan.
Mohammad Salim Ehsas, the head of the Kabul police headquarters, said the new security plan has been designed to provide security to Kabul, especially in diplomatic areas.
According to him, the new security plan has a form of development that will be implemented to all the capital.
The head of the Kabul Police added that all the security institutions in the capital are working harmoniously to implement this plan.
Use of trained dogs at checkpoints, installation of mobile scanners and security cameras in the city, mobile patrols, and an addition of a 500 police to the battalion in the anti-riot police are incorporated in the new security plan.
Officials from the Municipality of Kabul also assured that they have plans to support the new plan security plan such as control of traffic and keeping the diplomatic enclave clear of vehicles.
The new Kabul security plan is being implemented as the capital has recently witnessed deadly terrorist attacks.
