KABUL (SW): The Junbish party led by Vice President Gen. Abdul Rasheed Dostum has clarified its stance about the latest political scuffle.

Bashir Ahmad Tenag, spokesman for the Junbish-e-Islami Afghanistan, has said that their demands from the President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani remain in place. He told Salam Watandar that VP Dostum has never said that differences with the President are over via one telephone call.

“Constitutional amendment, formation of a Loya Jirga (grand council), changing the system of governance from the current Presidential System to a federal one, and fair distribution of power are the main demands by VP Dostum from the President”, he said. Tenag claimed that during the telephonic conversation, the President assured the VP that these demands are legitimate and worth acceptance.

Dotum spoke his heart out against the President and his Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah last week, and blamed both for promoting ethnic politics and favoritism. Meanwhile, few days back, he said that differences between him and the President are over following a telephonic conversation.
