TALEQAN CITY (SW): The First Vice President General Dostum’s supporters in a press conference called Zabiullah Fetrat, Spokesman for Jamiayt Party, as the one responsible for removing the VP’s posters in Balkh.
Kanishka Turkistani, Head of Junbish Youth Council, said that there are piles of evidence which indicate that Fetrat went to Kamgar Roundabout and ordered his subordinates to take off General Dostum’s posters and after tearing them, replace them with the pictures of Executive Officer, Abdullah Abdullah.
He said that he called Zabiullah Fetrat and warned him not to remove the VP’s pictures but Fetrat ignored his warnings.
Mohammad Feroz, Head of Noor Company in Balkh, claimed that when he went to put up General Dostum’s pictures, Zabiullah Fetrat called him and threatened him not to post the pictures or otherwise he would be killed.

Munir Farhadi, Spokesman for the governor in Balkh, denying the allegations, said that General Dostum’s pictures are unscathed everywhere in Balkh and it is not logical to remove them.
It is worth noting that residents in Takhar, Faryaab and Sar-e-Pul provinces protested in support of General Dostum holding his pictures and urged upon the government to arrest the perpetrators who removed his pictures as soon as possible.
Mawlawi Hussain Hanif, Deputy for Takhar Provincial Council and Khair Mohammad Timor, a commander linked to Junbish, speaking among the protestors in Takhar, said that it has been disrespectful and those behind the incident should be arrested or the demonstration would continue.
Supporters of the Acting Governor Atta Mohammad Noor, too demonstrated in a number of areas in the north and declared their supports for the acting governor.
