17/08/2016

KABUL (SW): Members of the Junbish Roshnayee (Enlightenment Movement) have criticized public hospitals for not properly treating those who got wounded in twin suicide attacks on a rally against the change in route of the 500kV electricity line last month.

They told at a press conference on Wednesday that many of the government’s hospitals did not deliver proper and necessary services to those who were injured in the attack at the Deh Mazang square.

Arif Rahmani, member of the movement said that due to the negligence at the hospitals some of the wounded victims had to be admitted at private hospitals.

He charged that the President has instructed the hospitals “not to treat these patients”.

Rahmani added that the international community, which constantly “chants” about democracy, human rights and strengthening civil institutions, only condemned the attacks but did not pay any attention to the victims of the suicide attack.

Meanwhile, Ismail Kawoosi, spokesman for the Ministry of Public Health, discarded these allegations. He told Salam Watandar that the governmental hospitals are doing their best to provide best treatment for all patients. He made it clear that only those who were not seriously wounded have been discharged from the hospitals.

The deadly twin suicide attacks, which ripped through the Junbish Roshnayee’s protestors at Deh Mazang Square last month claimed over 80 lives and left over 200 wounded.
