JALALABAD (SW) – Officials in Nangarhar province claimed on Tuesday Pakistan’s Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist group is also active along a number of other outfits here.
Gen. Nazar Ali Wahidi, head of the NDS in Nangarhar, told a presser that the security forces would not spare any such terrorist group. He said the Taliban, Daesh and Lashkar-e-Tayaba are other groups causing security issues here. He said the security forces would not allow these groups to reach their targets.
There are reports the JeM also has bastions in neighboring Kunar’s Sheltan, Dangam, Naray and Khas Kunar districts.
Pakistan is blamed for harboring and supporting the JeM group, which took responsibility for a suicide attack on Indian security forces in Kashmir earlier this month claiming more than 40 lives. The Indian Air Force claimed to have conducted air raids inside Pakistan against this attack on Tuesday, a claim rejected by Pakistan.
