KABUL (SW): Salahuddin Rabbani, foreign minister and head of the Jamiat Islami party, said on Saturday the key members of the party would get together and re-organize the party.

He was addressing a moot of the Jamiat in Paghman that was also attended by politicians like the Abdul Rab Rasul Sayaf, Younus Qanoni and others.  The Jamiat head expressed concerns over rift with the Junbish Party of the Vice President Abdul Rasheed Dostum.

Rabbani called for calm and understanding between the two parties. He urged upon the government to follow the case of Jamiat loyalists death in Faryab for which pro-Junbish activists are blamed.

The Foreign Minister also criticized heads of the National Unity Government (NUG) leaders for not meeting the promises it made while inking the deal for political understanding.

He underlined that the Jamiat Party joined the government against promises such as creation of the Prime Minister’s post, amendments in the constitution, reforms in the electoral system and conducting parliamentary and district council elections.

In his remarks, Rabbani welcomed the peace deals with those armed rebels willing to shun violence and peacefully enter the political arena.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Rasul Sayaf warned the government against sidelining the Mujahedeen leaders. He also called upon the Taliban to stop expecting wonders from Pakistan and enter a peace deal with the Afghan government.
