11/12/2018

KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Education and the Attorney General Office on Tuesday discarded the Integrity Watch Afghanistan report about corruption.

This comes as the IWA dubbed the MoE and the AGO as among the most corrupt public entities in line with their latest survey.

Amanullah Eman, spokesman for the AGO, pronounced this survey as vague, sub-standard and unjust. He went on to say this study by the IWA has no clear sources.

Noorya Nuzhat, spokesperson for the MoE, said on the occasion the study should have had the views of the corresponding entities as well. She added the IWA study began two years ago, and it did not took into consideration the latest positive changes into account.

On the other hand, Abdul Qadir Mutfi, spokesman for the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, also discarded a report by the Joint Committee for Monitoring and Evaluation in connection with the administrative corruption in bidding and contracting process.

It is worth noticing the IWA had stated their survey was based on views of up to eight thousand people from all 34 provinces.
