KABUL (SW): Kamal Saadat has been serving as interim minister for information and culture without the presidential endorsement for the past six months.
According to the Constitution, only the president of the country can appoint a person to serve as interim minister. But, in this case, Saadat has been serving as interim minister for months without any presidential decree.
A source in the Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC) informed Salam Watandar the former minister Abdul Bari Jahani tasked Saadat to take care of the affairs after he suddenly announced his resignation.
Acknowledging it, Saadat told Salam Watandar Jahani appointed him to this post. He said the former minister who resigned due to illness, appointed him ‘legally’ as the interim minister. Saadat was serving as director for youth affairs before taking over as interim minister.
Salam Watandar wished to have the views of the President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani’s spokesman, but to no avail.
