KABUL (SW): As many as six teams of men associated with different media networks would compete for the Inter-media Cricket Tournament commencing here on Friday.
Arrangements have been made for this tournament in the Ahmad Shah Baba township’s Saleem Karwan ground. The young cricketers would try to prove their mettle in 15-overs matches on this green turf. The six teams have been distributed in two groups that would compete for the title. The tournament would conclude with the final match on May 20. Unlike the regular leather ball, the organizers have opted to use tennis balls wrapped with plastic taps to make it travel faster.
Two matches would be played on Friday after a colorful inaugural ceremony. In the maiden match, Afghanistan Journalists’ Cricket Club would take on the Azadi Radio while Spinghar Talent Sports Association would face the Kabul Media Group in the second match of the day.
Rest of the teams in this maiden tournament of the sort include Shamshad Network and Kilid Group.
