PUL-E-KHOMRI (SW): Mahmud Haqmal, Spokesman for Governor of Baghlan, told Salam Watandar that the militants destroyed two more electricity transmission towers in Baba Nazar area in Dand-e-Shahabuddin on Wednseday.

He said that these two towers would transmit 70 kilowatt electricity from Tajekistan and now have been damaged.

Earlier, the militants destroyed 4 electricity transmission towers in Dand-e-Shahabuddin which led to power outage in the capital Kabul.

It is said that the Taliban have warned that if the government didn’t stop military operation against them in Dand-e-Shahabuddin, they would continue to destroy more towers.

Local officials in Baghlan said that they could not carry out any other operation in Dand-e-Shahabuddin area since Khurshid 20 operation was underway.

It has been 15 days now since the mop-up operation has been underway to clear Dand-e-Shahabuddin of the militants but the operation has not been effective so far.
