GHOR (SW): Following the report by Salam Watandar about physical and psychological torture aimed at 12-year-old Nestaran, police in Ghor have arrested her husband and in-laws.

Abdul Hadi Chehelghori, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghor Police, told Salam Watandar that the in-laws of the girl confessed to police that they have tortured Nestaran. He added that the case of Nestaran has now been referred to prosecutor's office for further investigation.

Nestaran's husband Eid Gul, a 12-year-old boy, said that he used to take livestock to the grasslands on daily basis, and did not know about her wife's agony. However, he said that he has witnessed the torture marks of his wife on several occasions in the past.

Ubaida Sharar, an attorney for the elimination of violence at the prosecutor's office, informed that she has started work on the case.

Nestaran was transferred to the provincial hospital in Ghor two days ago. She was not in a good condition, and in addition to physical and psychological torture, she was traumatized by the pain she suffered due to torture aimed at her private parts. Nestaran's health is still critical.

To preserve her identity, Nestaran has been used as a pseudo name for the victim.
