TALOQAN (SW): Sebghatullah Nazari, head of provincial rural development directorate, talking to Salam Watandar, said that since the beginning of the year, out of 349 development projects, 277 projects have been completed in the center and several districts of the province.
According to him, 72 projects are ongoing which will be complete in the coming months.
These projects are worth 1 billion afghanis and 60 thousand families will be directly and indirectly benefiting from them.
The projects include construction of roads, bridges, water canals, schools walls, and centers for selling farming and gardening products which are implemented with the help of Rural Road Program, Regional Integration, National Water Program, Citizen Charter Program and LATICA project.
Most of these projects are related to the preservation programs of the provincial directorate of rural development which are implemented in Warsaj, Dasht Qola, Chah Aab and Rustaq by 232 councils.
But, some residents of Chal district of Takhar province complaining against the provincial directorate of rural development state that the Chal district has been excluded from these projects.
According to them, the Chal district suffers from lack of drinking water, roads, health centers and schools due to not having a representative in the Wolesi Jirga (lower house).
On the other hand residents of Hazar Samoj and Namak Aab districts also criticized the government for non-implementation of development projects in these districts. They claimed that there have been no projects implemented in these districts in the past decade. The residents complained that there is no market to purchase daily items in these districts.
