“If not interfered, would ensure peace in six months”

KABUL (SW): Minister for Interior Affairs has said that if the recruitments at the security organs are not based on nepotism, he would ensure peace across the country within six months.

Taj Mohammad Jahed emphasized that if the promises he has mad are not realized, he will shoulder all the blames for any incident in the country.

Briefing the senators at the Masharano Jirga (upper house) on Sunday, he added that the Taliban have sustained heavy casualties during the fighting with the security forces since the beginning of the year.

He further said that it has been the security forces who turned out victorious in the fronts against the militants since the year began as a result which 700 militants have been killed and more than 500 more have been injured.

He pointed out that the insurgents have focused their attention to the northern provinces and the capturing northern Kunduz province was one of their priorities.

He underlined that the good coordination among the security forces have earned them success.

Jahed assured the senators that the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF)’s mop-up operation is underway in 10 different provinces in the country aimed at clearing the provinces of the enemy.
