KABUL (SW) – Two landmine blasts killed at least 9 more civilians in Sar-e-Pul and Nangarhar provinces, officials confirmed on Thursday.
Local officials in Sancharak district of Sar-e-Pul province said a mine blast killed six children and injured two women in the district. The incident took place last evening, Wednesday, September 02, in the village of Gajwai in the district. The village is under the control of the Taliban.
Naqibullah Daqiq, the district governor of Sancharak, said the victims were between the ages of 5 and 12.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the matter.
Sancharak district is one of the most insecure districts in Sar-e-Pul province.
On the other hand, three people were killed in a roadside bomb blast in Pachiragam district of Nangarhar province Thursday.
Attaullah Khogyani, the spokesman for Nangarhar governor, said a father and his son are among three civilians killed and one more wounded in this blast.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast.
