KABUL (SW) – The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission on Thursday disqualified 7 candidates for the Wolesi Jirga (lower house) elections after complaints against them.
Abdul Karim Shafaq, Habib Ghoryani, Ahmad Shah Sadat Hussaini, Nabi Ghulam Saqi, Rohina Walizai and Samira Khairkhwah are the dropped names from final list.
Ali Reza Rohani, the spokesperson for IECC, told a presser the criminal records, detention, continuing to official job while campaigning, and not being above the age of 25 are the main reasons of the removal of the mentioned candidates from final list.
The IECC clarified they have no more cases for dropping names from final list, and the election will be held with remaining candidates.
