KABUL (SW) – The Free and Fair Election Foundation of Afghanistan has blamed the Independent Election Complaints Commission for being indecisive in connection with the presidential polls.
Youssef Rashid, head of the FEFA, told a presser on Thursday that the IECC did not use its legal competence to resolve the election issues. He said the IECC has turned into collection point of complaints only.
According to Rashid, the IECC continues to operate conservatively without the much-needed decisiveness.
The FEFA head further stressed the IECC should satisfy the presidential candidates in terms of their reservations so that the preliminary results can be announced.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Reza Fayaz, a spokeswoman for the IECC, said in a statement that the commission will hold a meeting on Friday with members of the commission, electoral groups, civil society representatives and oversight bodies in Kabul to come out of the election crisis.
He stressed the only way out of the crisis is to engage with all parties involved in the election.
