KABUL (SW) – The Independent Election Commission has declared Mohammad Ashraf Ghani winner in the presidential polls with 50.64 per cent of the total votes.
Hava Alam Nuristani, chairperson of the IEC, told a press conference in this connection that the incumbent President Ghani won a total of 923968 votes. His closest rival Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah won 39.52 of the total votes with 720990 votes followed by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar with 70242 votes.
The Stability and Partnership team led by Abdullah has dubbed the results as based on rigging.
