MAIMANA (SW): A group of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Khawaja Namosi district of Faryab province have warned if the government did not pay attention to their problems, they will commit mass suicide.
The displaced families have taken shelter in Charmagar village of Jawzjan province in damaged homes and rented houses. While complaining about the incompetence of the authorities, they said despite the fact that the government entities and international organizations have surveyed them several times, but no help has reached them.
Said Talib Sadat, acting director at the provincial chapter of Directorate of Refugees and Reintegration (DoRR), confirming the problems of the IDPs in Jawzjan said the directorate is not ‘irresponsible’. “Instead, we are worried for the aid agencies’ delay in helping the IDPs”, he said.
Mohammad Reza Ghafori, Jawzjan governor’s spokesman, has promised that the aid agencies will rush to help the IDPs soon.
