KABUL (SW): A seven-member Afghanistan Free Fighting squad left for Tajikistan to participate in international competitions starting on 04 February.
The team is led by champion Afghan free-fighter Ahmad Wali Hotak. Eight international teams are scheduled to take part in these fights taking place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. According to the timetable, Afghanistan would face Iran, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in its group.
Ahmad Wali Hotak, who is also the advisor to the Afghanistan Olympic Committee, told Salam Watandar he has worked hard to train the Afghan fighters for this international competition.
Ahmad Wali Hotak, the Afghan Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter has three times defeated his Indian and twice his Russian counterparts. His last international appearance was in Moscow against the host team’s Ivan Kozechenko in which the Afghan fighter emerged victorious.
