KHOST (SW): In Minakeli, a village in Khost province, tens of Hindu families were living, but now the powerful people have usurped their lands.

Khost Hindus said they have visited the local administration several times to solve the issue, but no action has been taken so far. They said, if their lands are not returned back to them, they will leave Khost forever.

Qadeem Afghan, the Deputy Provincial Council of Khost said that the lands of Hindus in Khost have been seized, but they do not have the power to confront the powerful people. He said that Hindus have been living in Khost for a long time and they should not be treated inhumanely.

Mubariz Mohammad Zadran, the spokesperson for the Governor of this province, told Salam Watandar that they have not yet received a complaint about the usurpation.  However, Zadran said the vegetable market was built on the land belonging to the Hindu community sometimes ago, but the local administration immediately acted and resolved the problem.

According to the local Hindus, in the Minakeli area, tens of Hindu families were living some years ago, but recently they have been displaced to other areas.
