TALUQAN (SW): A local Jihadi commander Bashir Qanet associated with the Hezb-e-Islami (HI) in Takhar province has been blamed for abducting three school teachers.

A teacher in the Simti School in Chah district told Salam Watandar that the armed men associated with Qanet abducted two teachers Ahmad Tayab, Ahmad Khan and the school administrator Naimatullah on Wednesday. According to the source, these men have been abducted for not following the directives of the Jehadi commander Qanet.

Batkarullah, a brother of the missing teacher Ahmad Tayab, has said he has no contact with his brother.

Faqir Mohammad Jawzjani, provincial police chief, said in this regard that the abducted teachers are under the custody of Qanet’s men. He said the men have been abducted for allegedly organizing protest demonstrations against Qanet. The police chief went on to charge Qanet for committing atrocities in the area.

Salam Watandar wished to have the views of Bashir Qanet against these allegations, but to no avail.
